DTI encourages young people to engage in business

BANGUED, Abra, Oct.19(PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is engaging aspiring Abrenian youth entrepreneurs to pursue their goals in entering the business industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) with its tagline; "Harnessing Our Own Resources for the Advancement of the Youth", DTI will guide and support the youth to step up in their journey towards business and marketi

More than 50 Abrenian youth from various sectors such as youth organizations, financing institutions, national government agencies, academe and local government units. attended the YEP launching recently. During the opening program, the youth were oriented on the basic foundation of business competitiveness which was explained by DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez in a pre-recorded video.

Lopez introduced to them the 7 Ms for accelerating competitiveness of young entrepreneurs namely Mindset, Mastery, Mentorship, Money, Markets, Machines and Models.

"You will be our partners and our hope in flourishing the business industry of this nation towards economic progress and development", Lopez stressed.

DTI has also invited Philippine Young Entrepreneurs Association President Mr. Raymound Joshua Tan who imparted his expertise in ways and tips to fund their businesses at small budget to start with.

One of the highlights of the YEP launching was the open forum where the participants presented their opportunities and challenges towards entrepreneurial development.

DTI-Abra Acting Provincial Director Rodel Bolante invites all interested youth to join the training that starts on October 23. The series of entrepreneurial development training will be held every Fridays at the Provincial Capitol.
