New England Revolution midfielder/forward Teal Bunbury signed a multi-year contract extension, taking the 11-year veteran beyond the 2020 season.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed for Bunbury, who is in the midst of his seventh season with the Revolution.

"The emotions are really high. It's a special moment for myself, my family," Bunbury said of the deal in a video released by the team. "It isn't my first time re-signing with the club, but I think a special time with the place that the club is going and heading."

Bunbury, 30, has scored one goal in three games this season. He has 54 goals and 27 assists in 272 career games with the Kansas City Wizards/Sporting K.C. (2010-13) and Revolution.

"I've had the pleasure to work with Teal Bunbury over the past year, and have found him to be an invaluable part of our team and organization," Revolution head coach Bruce Arena said in a team statement. "Teal's contributions on the field speak for themselves and he has been an important part of our team's re-building efforts. Off the field, Teal represents the Revolution in a first-class manner and we are honored that he will remain as a member of the Revolution."

New England is 1-1-1 on the season and 1-0-0 (3 points) in Group C play of the current MLS is Back Tournament after defeating the Montreal Impact 1-0 on Thursday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando.
